Durant and Bryan county residences are eligible for a free library card. Out of County memberships are available.
You must come to the library to get your library card as we will need to take your picture and put it on your account. If you're interested in a virtual card to access e-books & audiobooks via Libby by Overdrive please reach out to library staff. library@durant.org 580-924-3486
A valid official ID. If you have a "real ID" that fulfills the residence requirement so no mail is needed.
If you do not have a real ID then you'll require a secondary proof of residence. A recent piece of mail or any official document with your name and address . For example: utility bill, lease agreement, any piece of mail, etc. You can also use your voter registration, car's registration or vehicle insurance.
In getting a library card you agree to obey all the library’s rules, take good care of all materials you borrow, pay all fines or damages, and give prompt notice of change in address.
Children aged 4 and older may get a card if their parent or legal guardian gets a library card and adds them to their account.
To get the card onsite you must meet all three requirements above. If no proof of address is available then the card will be mailed out to the patron and should arrive in 3-5 business days. This is the alternative method to providing proof of address.
You can renew most materials online & by telephone. You are allowed one renewal per item as long as there is NOT a hold on the item. If you need to check the item out for longer than the one renewal you must bring it into the library, check it in, then recheck it out.

Launchpads must be returned in person or at the drive thru window. Failure to do this, leaving the launchpad in the drop box, may result in the patron's loss of check out privileges.
Material will be held for a patron for one week after it is located and the patron has been notified by email or phone. A courtesy call will be made at one week and then the item will be passed on at ten days.
If the material is not picked up, the next person on the waiting list will be contacted. Failure to pick up requested materials will result in the patron's name at being placed at the end of the waiting list. The next person in line for the materials will be determined by the date of the request, which is printed on the reserve slip.

You must have a valid Donald W. Reynolds Community Center and Library card, be in good standing, and be 18 yrs or older to request an ILL. The lending library sets the length of loan period. An interlibrary loan book must be returned on time so that the book may be returned to the original library to avoid overdue fines being charged to our library.
If the book is lost, the patron will pay the cost of replacement and any other charges assessed by the lending library. Those who have more than one interlibrary loan overdue or lost book may have their ILL privileges suspended.
Patrons receive one free ILL request per month and if they want more there will be a charge of $1.50 per interlibrary loan request to help defer part of the cost of postage. This fee will be paid in advance and if the library is unable to fill the request the fee will be refunded. The fee will be waived for one ILL request per person each month.
Patrons will follow the policies of any participating library which allows books to be loaned. If they do not follow these policies, they will no longer be able to use the interlibrary loan service, and use of their Donald W. Reynolds Library card may be revoked.
